Awana is a Bible-based, Christ-centered program for children that fosters lasting faith in Jesus for every child. It is an international, Bible-centered ministry focused on evangelism and discipleship of children and youth from ages 3 through 18.
The word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse II Timothy 2:15: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."
God is at work in the lives of children and youth in our Church’s Awana Club. Come partner with us on the transformative journey that is child discipleship!
The Faith Baptist Church Awana program runs from September through May and meets on Friday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm.
Our program consists of four segments:
Opening ceremonies (salute to American and Awana flags, the Bible and an opening prayer).
Game time, which is our "active" time - this teaches fair play in an imaginative, fun way.
Small Group Time - composed mostly of Scripture memorization.
Large Group Time - present a bible based message, sing songs, do crafts and perform skits.
We approach our club as a family affair and encourage all family members to participate by holding special events throughout the year. These include: Awana Grand Prix, Christmas caroling, a birthday party for Jesus, parent night, nature outing and other fun activities.
